Drama Awards - 2015

Every year at my school the drama department put on an event called "The Moodles" which is our version of the Oscars. It is such an exciting evening and I always really enjoy it.

This awards ceremony is such a good opportunity to put on a dress and do my makeup and have a great night with my closest friends.

This year I wore a burgundy dress with a bardot neckline from ASOS and silver glittered heels from Monsoon. My clutch bag was also silver glittered and it was from New Look. I felt confident in this outfit. I love finding dresses I feel comfortable in, and I love strutting about when I feel I am looking a bit nicer than usual!

My problem is because of my height (5ft9) I have to find slightly littler heels, but that also means I can dance in them! Monsoon I have found provide well for that. I'm not a major fan of kitten heels, but I can't really wear platforms, so the mid heel Monsoon seem to sell a lot of are perfect. (Also they're covered in glitter, so they're perfect for me!)

The evening was in the theme of a tea party - sort of a vintage Alice in Wonderland type thing - and one of the boys in the upper sixth works in a tea shop, so brought loads of different teas and drinks. The theme was great, and the hall was decorated really well, with "Mad Hatter" alarm clocks on the tables, and tea party style dining.

The evening is set out with drinks at the beginning, followed by a three course meal, the awards ceremony, and then to finish the evening we go to the sixth form common room, play loud music and dance.

The awards were really good. One of my closest friends won the "Luboff" which is the biggest award of the evening, and I was so happy for him. I know he wanted it!

Overall it was a really good night. I home with my boyfriend afterwards and we had a great evening. This was my last "Moodles" awards with a lot of my friends as they are going on Gap Years or to Uni next year, and I'll still be stuck doing my last year! I did despite this however, really enjoy myself.
